Frequently asked questions

Please arrange an appointment with PIM to discuss utilisation. The implementation process is outlined under Successful step-by-step introduction of PIM. You can also test PIM by requesting access data from us.

Please ask your university whether it is already participating in PIM. If this is the case, you can log in to PIM and view the participating degree programmes.

PIM offers standard interfaces to HISinOne, CampusOnline and CampusNet (Datenlotsen). If a direct connection is not desired, we support universities in migrating their data. Subsequent integration of the interfaces is possible at any time.

PIM can also be used in these cases and facilitate the process of recognition. The prerequisite is that the degree programme data is available in digital form. An import from tables is also possible here.

PIM currently has no interfaces in this direction. However, the topic is very important to us and is expected to be addressed from 2025.

The duration of the implementation varies depending on local conditions at the universities. Contract documents are available from PIM. If existing standard interfaces are used to import study programme data, PIM can import the first module data for the respective university within a few weeks of the contract being signed. How long it will take for the system to go live will depend on how quickly university staff can be trained to use PIM. Please also read "Successful step-by-step introduction of PIM."

Paravo Education Technologies GmbH, founded in 2022, provides support, maintenance and further development of PIM.

The study programme data should be available in a structured and digital format, either in the campus management system or in tables.

Yes, PIM can also be introduced for individual faculties and departments. Please note that in the case of modules for which other faculties/departments are responsible, persons from these departments must be involved in the subject-related examination in PIM or there is a media break if the examination takes place outside of PIM in this case.

The costs of PIM depend on various factors, such as the number of students and the PIM components used. It is therefore not possible to give a generalised price. If you are interested in a price indication, please contact us.

The accessibility of the PIM software is currently under development. We are striving to fulfil the WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria.

No, universities that use PIM do not have to provide server capacity. PIM is browser-based and is hosted on server of the GWDG.

For the use of PIM an EVB-IT contract type Cloud and an agreement for contract data processing are signed with Paravo Education Technologies GmbH.

Yes, PIM uses the ELMO standard, which is based on ELM-AI (European Learner Mobility - Achievement Information, EN 15981) and MLO (Metadata for Learning Objects, EN 15982). ELMO is in XML file format and is also used by Erasmus without papers (EWP) and Emrex.

PIM can be used to implement the OZG requirement for recognising periods of study and academic achievements (LeiKa-ID: 99061023221000).
